While I gave it 3 stars...might be more like 2.5 or 2.75 stars if I were to be honest.
I enjoy books about the sidhe...in fact, seems like there are more and more books about the sidhe being published in the last few years. Either that, or I am just now finding them all? That could be a possibility too...
In The Iron King, Meghan Chase discovers that she is half-fae and embarks upon a life or death journey to rescue her half-brother, Ethan from the clutches of an evil fae ruler. She doesn't go alone - she is joined by Puck and Ash and a sith cat named Grimalkin as she navigates the realm of the NeverNever.
The first third of the story had me sucked in - it was interesting to watch as Meghan discovered her brother was missing and that she was a fae princess. After that...well, it seemed to devolve into your typical YA fantasy - which is why I lowered the star count. I thought the book had potential to stand out a little more than it did. From what I have heard, though, the series definitely continues in an upward arc. I think I am interested enough in Meghan's plight that I will pick up the rest of the series and give it a whirl. I am curious to see what happens to her and where the whole Iron Court thing goes...
